When life feels like a whirlwhind- Take a moment in the Eye of the storm

Hey Flowgreens family,

It’s been over a week since I last wrote to you, and this marks the release of something more personal! It feels like I’ve been caught in a tempest. Life has been a frenetic juggling act- work meetings, travelling from one place to the next, trying to bring ScentXpresso (our relaxation product, of all things!) to life, and of course, caring for the beautiful bambina.

Every day seems like a mad dash from one thing to another, with nary a moment’s pause.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re running on fumes, Flowgreens is your choir, and I’m singing loud and out of tune! But here’s what the past week has shown me: when life is at its busiest, that’s exactly when we must carve out time for ourselves. Not for hours, because who has that kind of time? But in tiny, rejuvenating, precious moments that can ground us in the maelstrom.

How to Find Calm in the Chaos

  1. Turn the ordinary into a ritual: Even before the start of Flowgreens my shower was an oasis, now it’s a sacred retreat. It’s my escape from the noise, even if only for a few minutes. That’s where ScentXpresso comes in—it turns an ordinary shower into a ritual of renewal, filling the air with soothing scents that help wash away the stress. Those few minutes feel like an olfactory lifeline, a soothing reminder that even in the madness, calm is yours to claim.
  2. Micro-moments of peace: These days, I’ve found that peace comes in appetising bite-sized pieces—like the quiet of the early morning before Cleo wakes up, or the 10 minutes between meetings when I can catch my breath. It’s amazing how just a few minutes to close your eyes, breathe deeply, and centre yourself can feel like a reset button for the soul.
  3. Setting boundaries, even small ones: I’ll be the first to admit—I struggle with this. But setting small boundaries has been a game-changer. Whether it’s stepping away from my phone for 10 minutes or deciding not to respond to emails after a certain hour, these little acts of self-care help create space in a day that feels overwhelmingly full.
  4. Asking for help is strength, not weakness: We often try to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders, but thanks to my team members at Flowgreens I’ve learned that asking for help isn’t admitting defeat—it’s calling in the cavalry. Whether it’s letting a friend step in, sharing responsibilities at home, or simply saying “I need a break,” we find and nurture our tribe for a reason; we have energy when others are tired and compassion feeds us all.

Why It Matters

In the middle of the frenzy—launches, deadlines, travel, and parenting—it’s easy to lose yourself. If we don’t take the time to refuel, how can we keep going? Without those small moments to reconnect with ourselves, we burn out. And I’ve been reminded this week that self-care isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity for survival.

So, let’s share this reminder to you (and me) and all that we love; we deserve those moments of peace, no matter how busy life gets. Whether it’s seven minutes in the shower, a few deep breaths at your desk, or simply sitting in stillness—carve out those moments. Your well-being is the battery that allows you to share your spark with everyone you know and meet.

When you take care of yourself, you’re not just trudging through the motions, you’re living and breathing them, when you thrive, the world shines brighter.

The essence of this is what is distilled into our mission statement (Puns fully intended!);

 “You are the foundation of what makes this world better, and we’re here to amplify your strength and ignite your unstoppable energy. Join us on the quest to make relaxation routine”
